Medicab Of Rochester Inc

MediCab Of Rochester was founded in 1975 as a franchise of MediCab Inc., with operations in 26 cities from Boston, Ma., to as far west as Kansas City, Mo.

Initially, MediCab of Rochester obtained contracts with 3 local school districts to provide school transportation for wheelchair bound students. Shortly thereafter, the company became a provider for the New York State Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, now Access VR, a relationship that continues to this day.

In 1978, MediCab Of Rochester bought the licensing rights to the name, dissolved their relationship with the parent company, and incorporated itself, with founder Don Mead as President and co-founder Maureen Mead Radder as Secretary. During the 1980's, the company grew from a fleet of 4 vehicles to 26 vehicles by decades' end. The company saw rapid growth due to our professional, on time service, and commitment to our client's needs.

In 1990, MediCab of Rochester purchased what would become our permanent home at 1449 Hudson Ave. Through the 1990's MediCab Of Rochester continued to steadily grow, and by the turn of the millennium boasted a fleet of 38 vehicles.

The 2000's brought many challenges for the company, and through the strength of the foundation that had been established, and new innovative ideas, MediCab was able to continue to grow. In 2010 we mourned the passing of our founder, Don Mead. With Maureen Radder upholding the standards that he established for our company and insisted on throughout our existence continue today. As of 2019, MediCab Of Rochester has a still growing fleet of 56 vehicles, with a forecast of continued growth for the future
